Note: Genus of evergreen trees and shrubs found primarily in Australia. Several commercial products are produced by these trees. Until 2005, around 1300 species found in Australia, Europe, Africa, southern Asia, and the Americas were classified in this genus. The genus has since been divided into 5 genera, with the name Acacia retained for the Australian species and a small number in tropical Asia, Madagascar, and the Pacific Islands. Most species outside Australia now belong to Vachellia and Senegalia, with small numbers of species placed in genera Acaciella and Mariosousa.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 常綠喬木及灌木的屬名，主要見於澳洲，可製成多種產品。至西元2005年為止，已於澳洲、歐洲、非洲、南亞及南北美洲發現約1300種樹種並歸於此屬。西元2005年時金合歡屬被細分為五屬，原來的金合歡屬（Acacia）一名用以指稱澳洲種及一小部分生於亞洲熱帶地區、馬達加斯加島及太平洋群島的樹種。大部分生於澳洲以外地區的樹種現則歸為Vachellia及Senegalia兩屬，另有一小部樹種則歸類於Acaciella及Mariosousa兩屬。 |
| Dutch ..... Genus van groenblijvende bomen en struiken, die voornamelijk voorkomen in Australië. De bomen worden gebruikt voor de productie van diverse commerciële producten. Tot 2005 werden er ongeveer 1300 soorten uit Australië, Europa, Afrika, Zuid-Azië en Zuid-Amerika ingedeeld bij dit genus. Het genus is daarna onderverdeeld in 5 genera, waarbij de naam Acacia is behouden voor de Australische soort en een klein aantal soorten uit tropisch Azië, Madagaskar en de eilanden in de Grote Oceaan. De meeste soorten buiten Australië behoren nu tot Vachellia en Senegalia, terwijl een klein aantal soorten is ingedeeld bij de genera Acaciella en Mariosousa. |
