Note: Phylum of approximately 900 known species representing the simplest animals to possess a circulatory system and a gut with a separate mouth and anus. | Dutch ..... Stam van ongeveer 900 bekende soorten. Het zijn de eenvoudigste dieren die een vatenstelsel hebben en een darmkanaal met een aparte mond en anus. Gewoonlijk is het lichaam lang en dun. Als de dieren bewegen, wordt het lichaam vaak ver uitgerekt. De meeste soorten leven vrij in de zee, maar er zijn ook enkele parasieten en sommige soorten leven in zoet water of op het land. |
