| Chinese (traditional) ..... 水上的浮動房屋或棚屋，多半行於河上；其特點為面積狹小，且由於快速搭建之故，大都簡陋不堪。也可特別指伐木工人為臨時居住所蓋的船屋。 |
| Dutch ..... Kleine boten met huisjes of hutten erop, gewoonlijk bedoeld voor rivieren. Ze zijn vaak gammel doordat ze doorgaans snel worden gebouwd. Kan specifiek verwijzen naar woonboten die houthakkers bouwen om tijdelijk in te wonen. |
| German ..... Schwimmendes Haus oder Bretterbude auf dem Wasser, gewöhnlich auf einem Fluß; gekennzeichnet durch eine geringe Größe und häufig wackelig, weil schnell zusammengebaut. Die Bezeichnung kann sich speziell auf das Hausboot beziehen, das als vorübergehende Wohnstätte von Waldarbeitern gebaut wurde. |
