Note: Broad term referring to several groups of Eukaryotes including around 500 species of primitive organisms that are biological and taxonomic enigmas because they are neither typical fungi nor typical protozoa. During one of their growth stages, they are protozoa-like because they lack cell walls, have amoeboid movement, and ingest particulate nutrients; during another stage they form fruiting bodies and sporangia, which bear walled spores like typical fungi.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 泛指數種真核生物集群，其中包括約五百種原始有機體；細胞黏菌在生物學上與分類上仍是難解之謎，因為它們既不是真菌，亦不是一般的原生動物。在某一成長階段中，由於缺乏細胞壁，具有似變形蟲的活動方式，且會攝取養分微粒，因此與原生動物相似；在另一階段當中，它們則會形成子實體與孢子囊，能夠像普通真菌一般，釋放具有細胞壁的孢子。 |
