Note: Throwing axes with a short handle and a long arched blade widening toward the cutting edge and ending in a prominent point at the top back corner and often at the bottom one as well. They had become the characteristic national weapon of the Franks by the 6th century and were used by other European peoples at least into the 9th century.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 把手短小的投擲斧，其長拱形的斧刃往刃口逐漸變寬，於頂端斧背角落處凸起，亦時常於底部的角落處凸起。在六世紀時成為弗蘭克斯(Franks)獨具特色的國家武器，而其他歐洲民族則至少使用至第九世紀。 |
