Note: Refers to the period of the religious revolution that took place in the Christian church of central and northwestern Europe in the 16th century, having as its object the reform of the doctrines and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, and which became the basis for Protestantism. Its style is dictated by a shift in patronage from the church to the laity, and in subject matter from the lives of saints and other Catholic themes to ones relating more directly to the common man, particularly landscapes, still lifes, portraits, Hebrew Biblical and certain Christian Biblical themes.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 指西元十六世紀，中歐與西北歐基督教會發生宗教改革運動的時期。此運動以改革羅馬天主教會教條與常規為目標，後來成為新教教義的根基。此風格的轉變源於贊助者的改變，贊助者從過去的教會變成一般的非神職俗人，主題從聖徒生命與其他天主教題材，轉而強調與一般人直接相關的議題，特別是風景畫、靜物畫、肖像，以及希伯來聖經和特定基督教聖經主題。 |

Verwijst naar de periode van de religieuze revolutie die plaatsvond in de christelijke kerk van Midden- en Noordwest-Europa in de 16de eeuw, die tot doel had de doctrines en gewoonten van de Rooms-katholieke kerk te hervormen en die de grondslag vormde voor het Protestantisme. De stijl kenmerkt zich door een verandering van het begevingsrecht van de kerk aan de leken. In de onderwerpkeuze vind een verschuiving plaats van heiligenlevens en andere katholieke thema’s naar onderwerpen die meer betrekking hebben op de gewone man, vooral landschappen, stillevens, portretten, joods bijbelse en bepaalde christelijk bijbelse thema’s. |

Alude al período de la revolución religiosa que tuvo lugar en la iglesia cristiana de Europa central y del noroeste en el siglo XVI, teniendo como su objeto la reforma de las doctrinas y prácticas de la Iglesia católica romana, y qué se volvió la base para el Protestantismo. Su estilo es dictado por un cambio de patronazgo de la iglesia a la laicidad, y en contenido de las vidas de santos y otros temas católicos a unos que se relacionan más directamente al hombre común, particularmente los paisajes, retratos de personas vivas, Bíblica Hebrea y ciertos temas bíblicos cristianos. |
