Join us as Jeanne Marie Teutonico, Associate Director, Programs, at the Getty Conservation Institute, takes a critical look at the Institute's work over the last 15 years and discusses how changes in approach and emphasis reflect the evolving nature of conservation practice.

About the Getty Conservation Institute
The Getty Conservation Institute, a part of the J. Paul Getty Trust, began operation in 1985. The Institute's activities emphasize:

• scientific research into the nature, decay, and treatment of materials from stone to modern paint;
• educational initiatives for conservation professionals;
• field projects around the world that advance conservation practice; and
• dissemination of information through print and electronic publications and videos.

About Jeanne Marie Teutonico
Jeanne Marie Teutonico joined the Getty Conservation Institute in 1999. An architectural conservator with over 20 years of experience in the conservation of buildings and sites, she was previously on the staff of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) in Rome and English Heritage in London.

Conservation Matters is a series of occasional lectures hosted by the Getty Conservation Institute examining conservation issues from around the world. Upcoming lectures will focus on the historic bridges of the Los Angeles River and the role of the National Park Service in protecting cultural resources, among other topics.
