Family Workshop

Time: 10:00 a.m.–noon

Did you know that the ancient world was positively teeming with monsters? It's true! From the snake-headed Medusa who could turn you to stone with her glare, to the half-man, half-horse centaurs who loved to stir up mischief, monsters—and fascinating stories about them—were everywhere in ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art, literature, and myth.

Spend a Saturday exploring monster lore as a family with this fun, hands-on workshop. You'll hear about heroes and harpies, griffins and gorgons, then make your own art project featuring your favorites. You'll also get lots of ideas for monstrously clever projects and stories to explore together at home.

Families are welcome to stay after the workshop to explore the Villa's galleries and gardens. Family-friendly food options are available at the Cafe as well as the coffee kiosk, which features grab-and-go items.
