The Getty Research Institute presents a special screening of Citizen Lane (2019, Blu-Ray, 80 min.), a portrait of Irish collector of modern art, Hugh Lane. Set in Dublin in the early 20th century, the film richly narrates the story of Lane's establishment of the first public modern art gallery, through his untimely death and contested will.

Morna O'Neill, associate professor of 18th- and 19th-century European art at Wake Forest University and author of Hugh Lane: The Art Market and the Art Museum, 1893–1915, will introduce the film and host a Q&A with the audience following the screening.

This film by Soho Moon Pictures and Mammoth Films is a co-production with Umedia in association with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland RTÉ Bord Scannán na hÉireann / Irish Film Board and Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane.
