A major Getty grant was awarded to the Italian conservation firm Centro di Conservazione Archaeologica (CCA) to support training for Syrian technicians as part of the Mosaikon initiative. Originally scheduled to take place in Damascus, the course was relocated to Italy, where participants completed sustained training on the treatment and care of lifted mosaic pavements.
