Getty Research Institute

Getty Scholar Grants are for established scholars, or writers who have attained distinction in their fields. Projects connect to the Getty Research Institute's annual theme.

Pre- and Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for emerging scholars who are working on projects related to the Getty Research Institute's annual theme. Two postdoctoral fellowships, supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) were added to the existing program in 2011, and the Volkswagen Foundation, in cooperation with the Getty Research Institute, will provide up to two postdoctoral fellowships for the 2014-2015 scholar year.
Library Research Grants provide partial, short-term support for scholars whose research requires use of collections housed in the Getty Research Institute. Please note that the next deadline for this program is October 15, 2013
