Title I Bus Funding

The Getty Center and Getty Villa Museum offer subsidized transportation to eligible organizations or Title I Schools in Los Angeles County. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SUMMER 2025 (7/9/25 – 8/1/25)

• Be a Title I school (according to the California Department of Education), a nonprofit 501(c)3, or an organization serving lower-income communities (i.e. high percentage of families within the immediate service area are below the median income range, or within, or engaging with, a neighborhood that has been identified as having little to no arts programming).
• Be located within 30 miles of the Getty Center or Villa.
• Fill each requested bus with at least 30 students.
• You must use our designated bus companies, TLC, Fast Deer, ATS or LuxBus for transportation. Unfortunately, district buses or buses from other transportation companies cannot be funded.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-26 (9/2/25 – 5/29/26)

• Be a Title I school (according to the California Department of Education).
• Be located within 30 miles of the Getty Center or Villa.
• Fill each requested bus with at least 45 students.
• You must use our designated bus companies, TLC, American Transportation, Lux Bus America or Fast Deer, for transportation. We cannot fund district buses or buses from other transportation companies.

IMPORTANT

• A standard bus most often seats up to 50 students (plus 5 chaperones). Please consider when requesting funding the Getty's goal of serving as many schools as possible. For this reason, we require a minimum of 45 students to obtain a funded bus, and provide a maximum of 2 funded buses for most visit requests.
• Funding is limited and not guaranteed until confirmed in writing by the Getty Center or Villa.
• Funds are offered to those meeting the eligibility requirements on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is depleted.
• If authorized, you will receive an email with further instructions after we receive your school visit request.
• If not authorized, you will receive a denial email after we receive your school visit request.
• If you are not approved for a bus, your application will still be processed and a field trip will be scheduled for your group, unless you indicate otherwise on the School Visit Request Form.
