Admission to the Getty Villa is FREE. Advance, timed tickets are required and can be obtained online or by calling (310) 440-7300. Groups of nine or more must make reservations by phone.
Conservators and curators from the J. Paul Getty Museum lead one-hour gallery talks on the exhibition. Space is limited. Sign up at the Tour Meeting Place outside the Museum Entrance 15 minutes before the talk.

Self-Representation in the Northern Black Sea Region
Join Anna Trofimova, head of the Department of Classical Antiquities at the State Hermitage Museum, and Janet Grossman, associate curator of antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum, for an in-depth discussion of the various ways that the Scythians, Greeks, Bosporans, and Romans portrayed themselves in works of art. Tours of the exhibition are included. Jewelry from Cities on the Northern Black Sea
Yuri Kalashnik, chief emeritus of Greek and Roman antiquities at the State Hermitage Museum, examines principal finds of jewelry from the northern Black Sea region. He considers their unique qualities as products of local Greek artists and also as reflections of trends in Classical goldworking.

Pia Guldager Bilde, director of the Danish National Research Foundation's Center for Black Sea Studies, speaks about the goddess Cybele (mother of the gods), one of the earliest deities worshipped by the Greeks in the colony of Olbia. The lecture includes a survey of new finds from recent excavations.
