Note: Friar minor and chronicler, son of Rinaldo, Lord of Sarnano in the Marches, of an ancient and noble family of French origin. Thought to be the compiler of the Fioretti di San Francesco, a gathering of written and oral stories of the saint at around 1328. This book was the source of iconography of the life of St. Francis.
