Yu Sangun (Korean calligrapher and government official, 1636-1707)
|
Note: Yu Sangun was a calligrapher and civil official who was active between the mid- and late Joseon periods. The influence of calligraphy of Yan Zhenqing (709-785) and Yu Gonggwon (1132-1196), both of whom were widely popular during the late Joseon era, can be observed in his regular script. When executing running script, however, Yu employed a style based on the Songxue style of calligraphy. |
