Note: In the 1880s, the firm of Hill & Watkins was established in San Jose, California. The partnership was between Andrew Putnam Hill, the photographer, and his mother-in-law Laura J. Broughton Watkins who financed the studio. Both J.C. Franklin and Sidney J. Yard were briefly partners before the studio closed in 1891. |
