Bonomi, Maria (Brazilian printmaker, born 1935)
|
Note: She began her training in pritmaking with Lívio Abramo, in 1954. She took classes from Hans Müller, in 1956, and in 1959 she was in the workshop given by Johny Friedlaender at the Museu de Arte Moderna (MAM-RJ). Her work was initially characterized bya caligraphic organicity, then moved on to involve increasing abstraction and geometricization of the forms. Rigorously exploring the carving of wood,, her woodcuts began to assume uncommon dimension in the 1960s. |
