Peter II, Duke of Bourbon (French duke, patron, 1438-1503)
|
Note: Peter II became Duke of Bourbon in 1488 upon the death of his brother, John II. He was married to King Louis XI eldest daughter Anne, together they reigned from their duchy in Moulins. Their patronage was inspired by both their aesthetic sensibility and their desire to demonstrate their dynastic power. Peter is depicted in three works by the Master of Moulins and his coat of arms or initials is displayed of many of his commissions. |
