Pahlavi dynasty (Iranian dynasty, active 1925-1979)
|
Note: Iranian dynasty of rulers, founded by Reza Shah Pahlavi, who in many ways modernized the country, though his detractors suggest his rule was authoritarian. He was forced to leave the throne in 1941 with the Anglo-Soviet invasion, after both Great Britain and the Soviets allied to fight Germany during World War II. He was succeeded by his son, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. |
