Cutting, Robert Fulton (American lawyer and banker, 1852-1934)
|
Note: American lawyer and director for several banks and trust companies, he was born in New York City on January 12, 1850, the son of Fulton and Aisle Justine Cutting. He attended Columbia College and received a Bachelor of Laws in 1871, later admitted to the bar that same year. On April 26, 1877, he married Olivia Peyton Murray and had three children: William Bayard Cutting Jr., Justine Bayard Cutting and Bronson Murray Cutting. Cutting was a trustee of the United states Trust Company, and he was a director of the New York Botanical Gardens, the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Zoological Society, among others. He died on a train en route from El Paso to New York City on March 1, 1912.
