Eisner Lehfeldt, Maria (Italian photo editor and agent, 1909-1991, active in the United States)
|
Note: Photo editor and agent was born in Milano in 1909. During WWI, her family moved to Germany. In Berlin she started working for illustrated magazines. She fled Nazi Germany in 1933 and went to Paris to start the agency Alliance Photo, and represented Robert Capa and David Seymour working on the Spanish Civil war front. She went to the United States in the early days of World War II. She was one of the original founders of Magnum Photos and was Paris Bureau chief from 1948 to 1951. She married Dr. Hans Lehfeldt. |
