|
Note: Gyejeong was a monk-painter active in Chungcheong-do and Gyeonggi-do (provinces) in the second half of the nineteenth century. Under the influence of Chundam Bongeun, Gyejeong produced Buddhist paintings using mild colors. He also joined the production of Buddhist paintings led by Hanbongdang Changyeop and Geumgokdang Yeonghwan, both of whom were active in the Gyeonggi-do area. His notable works include "Buddhist Guardian Deities" produced in 1869 at Doseongam (hermitage) of Mansesa (temple) and "Amitabha Buddha" produced in 1874 at Cheongryongsa in Anseong. |
