Painter of Naples 1789 (Greek vase painter, active ca. 320-280 in Cumae)

Note: A vase painter working during the final stage in the development of red-figure at Cumae. Closely related in style to the Painter of B. M. F 247 and his use of white and black-figure decoration recalls the work of the Castelcapuano Painter. His work is noted for its elaborate treatment of drapery folds. His style leads directly on to that of the Teano Group. |

| French ..... Peintre sur vase grec, actif entre 320 et 280 avant notre ère à Cumes. Ce peintre travaille durant l'ultime étape de développement de la figure rouge à Cumes. Il est très proche du peintre du B.M.F. 247, et son utilisation de figures en noir et blanc rappelle fortement le travail du peintre de Castelcapuano. Son travail est remarquable quant au traitement des drapés. Son style mène directement à celui du groupe de Teano. |

E molto simile dal pittore del B.M.F 247, specialmente per l'uso del bianco e del nero, che ricorda il lavoro del pittore di Castelcapuano. Il stilo guida direttamente a quello del gruppo di Teano. |
