Niedecken-Walbridge Co. (American interior design firm, established 1907)

Note: According to Hoffmann, Frank Lloyd Wright assigned the Niedecken-Walbridge Co. to build the furniture for the Robie House in Chicago, Illinois, in 1909. The company was run by George M. Niedecken who was an interior designer. Connors also suggests that the Niedecken-Walbridge Co. was hired to build furniture for the Robie House in 1910. According to Goldstein, the Niedecken-Walbridge Co. was founded by George N. Niedecken and John S. Walbridge in 1907. The company specialized in mural painting as well as furniture, glass and light designs. George N. Niedecken worked with Frank Lloyd Wright form 1904 to 1918. The buildings he helped to decorate included the Coonley House in Riverside, Illinois (1908-1909) and the Robie House in Chicago, Illinois (1910). |
