Note: Gerhard mostly worked in Augsburg, Munich, and Innsbruck as a sculptor. He worked in bronze, terracotta and stucco and is noted for having introduced Giambologna's courtly Mannerist style into southern Germany and the Tyrol. He is perhaps best known for the bronze figures made for monumental fountains such as the Augustus Fountain in Augsburg. |
