Note: Died 13 November 1809. Cherpitel began his training in the office of Ange Jacques Gabriel and later attended the school of Jacques François Blondel. Co-winner of the Prix de Rome with Jean François Chalgrin in 1758, Cherpitel studied in Italy from 1759 to 1765. Did over 300 drawings of Rome's monuments. Elected to the Académie Royale d'Architecture in 1776. French architect. Comment on works: Architect & Decorator
