Coates, Albert B. (American miner and businessman, 1870-1922)
|
Note: Owner of iron mines; his house built in 1912 was placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1980. Born in Ohio, he came to Virginia in 1897. Under the tutelage of William Rockefeller, he had his first actual mining experience at the Franklin mine as chief clerk; He died Jan.10 1922 at Orlando, FL at the age of 52.
