Rugendas family (German artists and print publishers, active 17th-19th centuries)

Note: German family of painters, draughtsmen and engravers. Georg Philipp Rugendas established a print publishing house in Augsburg in 1735. His sons Georg Philipp II, Christian, and Jeremias Gottlob helped with the family business, as did their descendants, including Johann Lorenz II. Johann Moritz Rugendas, the son of Johann Lorenz II, was esteemed for his drawings and paintings of Brazil and other Latin American countries. |
