Henry, Morris H. (American surgeon, 1835-1895)

Note: Renowned surgeon and skin specialist; he was born in London, England on July 26, 1835. He studied art at the Somerset House in London. He moved to the United States at 17 years old and attended the University of Vermont, where he graduated from in 1860. In 1880, he married Elizabeth Rutherford Hastings, and following her death, he married Mehitable L. Everett. Dr. Henry was considered one of the best authorities on skin diseases in the United States. He established and edited the American Journal of Dermatology and published several monographs. He died at his home, 581 Fifth Avenue, on May 19, 1895.
