Galen, Thyman van (Dutch painter, 1590-after 1632)
|
Note: Painter of architectural subjects and perspectival studies; Galen studied in Italy, and settled in Utrecht in 1615. He became a master painter in 1616. In 1617, in Amsterdam, he married Maria Bouwers, a protestant. A picture representing a temple was given by him to the hospital of Saint Job in 1632, which was sold from there in 1811. |
