Irvin, Albert (English painter, 1922-2015)

Note: Known for his abstract paintings, watercolors, and prints. Born in southeast London, he attended the Northampton School of Art but joined the Royal Air Force in 1941 during World War II. After the war he studied design at Goldsmiths College. He taught there from 1962 for over twenty years. Closely involved with the Advanced Graphics London printshop. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2013, and his work has appeared in Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
