Cahill, Holger (American administrator and writer, 1887-1960)
|
Note: From 1935-1941, Cahill was the head of the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project (WPA/FAP), which was the United States's government's most expensive art program. The program commissioned murals, paintings and photographs and employed artists that were registered on relief rolls during the Depression. Cahill then organized the Index of American Design, which over 22,000 examples of folk art from public and private collections. |
