Ferdinand VI, King of Spain (Spanish king, 1713-1759)

Note: Second son of Philip V and his first wife, Marie-Louise; third king of Spain of the house of Bourbon. Noted for having pursued a policy of neutrality and gradual reform. A great patron of the arts, with his father he started the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in 1744. He was responsible for bringing Italian artists to the court and sending artists at the Academia to Rome.
