Record Type: Person
Neilson, Jacob (British musician and collector, died 1785)

Note: Gentleman's magazine give his age at death as "upwards of 80". He was a musician and a collector of shells and other natural and scientific specimen. He lived with the painter and collector Arthur Pond, and although Gentleman's magazine claims he was entirely left out of the will because of a fight over a housekeeper, his 1787 sale states that he inherited Pond's print collection. Some sources give his first name as John.
