Valle Júnior (Brazilian painter, 1889-1958)
|
Note: Brazilian landscape painter, portraitist and designer. He studied at the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios of São Paulo and at the Académie Julian, in Paris. He had an important role in the professionalization of the artists in São Paulo and the creation of the Union of the painters in this city, the first of its kind in Brazil. His work shows a progressive incorporation of elements of modernity, mixed with the influences of his traditional academic background. |
