Wainewright, Thomas Griffiths (English and Australian painter and critic, 1794-1847)
|
Note: Wainewright exhibited six times at the Royal Academy from 1821-1825, while at the same time a critic and essayist. He was tried for forgery in 1837 and sent to Tasmania where he spent the remainder of his years, later admitting that he poisoned his wife in 1830. Wainewright was the inspiration for Charles Dickens' work "Hunted Down". |
