Neurdein, Louis-Antonin (French photographer, printer, and publisher, before 1840-after 1912)

Note: Louis-Antonin Neurdein was a partner in the firm Neurdein Frères in Paris, France with his brother Etienne, but it is not known when the firm was established, though active dates are believed to be ca. 1863-1912. In 1865, Antonin Neurdein was probably a publisher/photographer in Paris, offering portrait-cartes of historical figures and celebrities. He also produced photographs on canvas and silk. In 1867, he was offering stereoscopic views. In 1885, he photographed the cathedral at Amiens, France. In 1889, Neurdein and his brother Etienne presented views at the Universal Exposition in Paris and won a gold medal. By the 1890s, Etienne was responsible for the administration and portraiture for the partnership, while Antoine travelled and photographed. In 1891 the Neurdein brothers photographed in Switzerland and in 1907 the brothers photographed in Montréal, Canada. By 1912, Antoine was set up as a printer-publisher.
