Note: Birth date is uncertain, but 1524 is generally recognized as the most probable. after thirty years of pharmacy practice, he vowed to undertake philanthropy and saving orphans. In 1576 he applied to King Henry III to install a charitable institution for the poor, sick, and abandoned children, the Maison des Enfants-Rouges, near the Temple. |
