Note: Child of Hon. William Wellesley-Pole, 1st Baron Maryborough and third Earl of Mornington, and Katharine Elizabeth, daughter of Admiral the Hon. John Forbes. She married John Fane, Lord Burghersh, and was known as Countess of Westmorland when her husband succeeded as 10th Earl of Westmorland. She was a talented linguist, intellectual, and noted amateur artist, receiving lessons from William Salter, for whom she was a patron. Comment on works: Portraits |
