Nakakubo, Massuo (Brazilian painter, engraver, and teacher, born 1938)
|
Note: Nakakubo started his artistic career through drawing. From 1966 to 1969, he took part of several collective exhibitions and official salons. In 1967 he made his first individual exhibition and, in 1969, he started his silkscreen production. In the 1980s, he started to work with metal engraving and lithography. He taught silkscreen at the Faculdade de Desenho Industrial, the Faculdade de Comunicação e Artes Plásticas da Universidade Mackenzie and at the Fundação Cultural de Curitiba, Paraná. Throughout his artistic career, he received several awards: 15th and 16th Salão Paulista de Arte Moderna; 1st Bienal de Artes Plásticas de Santos; 2nd, 4th and 9th Salão Paulista de Arte Contemporânea; Prêmio Aquisição do Itamaraty at the 13th São Paulo Biennial; and Prêmio de Aquisição of the 3rd Bienal Internacional de Arte Gráfica, among others. His works entered several private and official collections, and the Museu de Arte do Parlamento de São Paulo. |

| Portuguese ..... Pintor, desenhista e gravador brasileiro. Inicia sua carreira artística através do desenho. Entre 1966 e 1969, participa de diversas mostras coletivas e salões oficiais. Em 1967 realiza sua primeira exposição individual e, em 1969, inicia sua produção em serigrafia . Nos anos 1980, começa a se dedicar à gravura em metal e à litografia. Foi professor de serigrafia na Faculdade de Desenho Industrial, na Faculdade de Comunicação e Artes Plásticas da Universidade Mackenzie e na Fundação Cultural de Curitiba, no Paraná. Ao longo de sua carreira artística, recebeu inúmeros prêmios: 15º e 16º Salão Paulista de Arte Moderna; 1ª Bienal de Artes Plásticas de Santos; 2º, 4º e 9º Salão Paulista de Arte Contemporânea; Prêmio Aquisição do Itamaraty na 13ª Bienal de São Paulo; e Prêmio de Aquisição da 3ª Bienal Internacional de Arte Gráfica, entre outros.
