Note: John Mylne was the son of Thomas Mylne, Master Mason of Dundee. John Mylne was a Burgess of Dundee, Freeman of Perth, Master of the mason's lodge at Scone, and, like his father, Master Mason to the king of Scotland. His known work includes the polygonal Dundee Mercat Cross (1586), noted for its elegance, and the Tay Bridge (1604; destroyed 1621) at Perth. British architect. |
