Mace, Thomas Henry (Canadian architect, born 1888)
|
Note: Born 19 February 1888. Mace received his first experience as a draughstman when he served with Hutcheson and Wood, of the City of Montréal, in 1907-1910. Mace graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass., in 1913. While studying there, he was associated, during part of the time, with Montréal architects David R. Brown and Hugh Vallace. In 1913-1914, Mace travelled in Europe on a scholarship, studying architectural designs in Rome and other cities. In 1914-1915, Mace worked as a draughtsman with Barott and Blackader in Montréal, Québec. After World War I, during which he was enlisted in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and in the Royal Flying Corps, Mace became associated with Montréal architects David R. Brown until 1924, and then with Harold Lea Fetherstonhaugh. |
