Symeon Metaphrastes (Byzantine hagiographer, active 2nd half 10th century)
|
Note: Principal compiler of the legends of saints in the Menologia of the Byzantine Church, a 10-volume Greek collection of saints' lives. Most scholars now identify the Metaphrast with Symeon Magister the Logothete, who wrote a chronicle under Nicephorus Phocas (963/969). |
