Hi Red Center (Japanese artists' collective and performance group, active 1963-1964)

Note: Japanese action-, or 'movement-group' formed by Jiro Takamatsu, Natsuyuki Nakanishi and Genpei Akasegawa, 1963. Hi-Red Center was devoted to performances designed to transform social actions into art. They used an exclamation point as their trade mark, and were involved in a trial over the manufacture of a 1,000-yen note. The group generated a series of printed pamphlets related to their actions.
