Žák, Ladislav (Czech architect and teacher, 1900-1973)
|
Note: Czech architect and teacher studied painting and architecture at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts 1919-1927. He later joined the Mánes Association of Plastic Artists, the Czechoslovak Werkbund, the Left Front, and Union of Socialist Architects. He opened his own architecture office in Prague, 1930. Before WWII he designed functionalist furniture in tubular steel, as well as housing. He is known primarily for his single-family houses and villas in Prague. After the war he devoted himself to the study of landscape design, which he taught at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. Czecholovakian architect. |
