Ja'far (Persian calligrapher, active 1412-1431)
|
Note: Ja'far was trained in the classic six script and nasta'liq by 'Abdallah sayrafi. Ja'far's works vary from a manuscript (1412-1413) to a book of collected poetry, the Dīvān of Hasan Dihlavi (1431-1432). Most importantly, Ja'far worked on the infamous Shāhnāma (Book of Kings, 1429-1430). He mastered the classic scripts of thuluth, naskh, and muhaqqaq and passed his knowledge on to his students. |
