Yu Jaeso (Korean painter and government official, 1829-1911)
|
Note: Yu Jaeso was a painter who was active at the end of the Joseon period. He studied under Kim Jeonghui (1786-1856) and maintained close friendships with fellow disciples Jeon Gi (1825-1854), Kim Sucheol (?-1862), Yi Hancheol (1808-1893), and Yu Suk (1827-1873). He mainly painted landscapes and was skilled at the styles of varied masters of the past, including the Four Great Masters of the Late Yuan. He developed a refined style based on the Southern School of Painting. |
