Pearce, Edward Lovett (Irish architect, ca. 1699-1733)

Note: Died 16 November 1733. It is unknown how long Pearce stayed in England, but by October 1726 Pearce was in Dublin, Ireland. He designed the interior and wings of Castletown, County Kildare, Ireland, begun by his associate Alessandro Galilei. He succeded Thomas Burgh as Surveyor-General for the Parliament House on the latter's death in 1730. One of the earliest and most important Irish Palladian architects, he was knighted in March 1732.
