Note: A French sculptor during the reign of Louis XIV, Jacquet (called Grenoble) was born into a long line of sculptors. He worked in Paris and inherited the title of 'Garde des Antiques du Roi' from his father. In 1649 he was working in the studio of Algardi in Rome. When he returned to France he executed decorative sculptor for the Tuileries and Louvre palaces and château of Versailles. French sculptor, 17th cent. |
