Note: Art dealer helmed galleries in New York City for almost 20 years from the 1980s until his death. He attended New York University, studying philosophy and linguistics. His first gallery, in the early 1980's, was called Vox Populi, and was part of the East Village art scene. He relocated to SoHo in 1988 and created American Fine Arts Co., showing artists working in a variety of genres including large-scale installation, institutional critique, video, and painting. He is known to have invented artists to exhibit such as John Dogg and J. St. Bernard. |
